On the evening of 28 September, the show “Pink hearts, 3rd edition” and the “1st singing contest for people with disabilities”, organised by the Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans, the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang, took place at Trung Vuong Theatre. Fine songs and beautiful dance performances will surely linger in the hearts of the audience after the evening of music. “Disabled but not incapable” is a lyric in a song by Nguyen Quoc An, with a cheerful melody full of optimism and love of life, and a longing for a meaningful life for people with disabilities…
With 43 items taking part in the contest, the organising committee selected 12 items to perform in the art evening. “The entries by the contestants in the ‘singing voices of people with disabilities’ contest clearly showed the ‘talent’ in them as compensation for their physical impairments” – musician Thai Nghia, a judge of the contest, said. Memorable for viewers were the performances of contestant Thanh Thuy (Da Nang City Blind Association) with the song “Da Nang, a city of love” (lyrics: Ngan Vinh, music: Dinh Tham), and “Meeting mother in a dream” (composed by Tran Van Phuc), performed by Nguyen Quy An Dung (Nguyen Dinh Chieu School, Da Nang); along with many other very impressive performances that stirred deep feelings in viewers.
