Our history
The Center for Research and Action for Inclusive Development (IDEA) was founded on 18 August 2006 as a non-profit organization of and for people with disabilities, under the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technological Creations (VFST). In 2018, to expand its work, IDEA became a science and technology organization under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA).
With nearly 20 years of experience, IDEA has always worked to build a fair society, remove barriers and promote the inclusion of people with disabilities and disadvantaged groups. Through innovative projects, IDEA has helped build capacity, enabling people with disabilities to live independently and contribute actively to their communities.
IDEA’s achievements would not have been possible without the valuable support and partnership of domestic and international donors and partners. This cooperation has helped IDEA successfully deliver many meaningful programs with a far-reaching impact on the lives of many people with disabilities.
Supporting livelihoods, improving quality of life and stabilizing incomes are also an important part of IDEA’s mission. These efforts help people with disabilities, ethnic minorities and other vulnerable groups take part in social life with confidence.
