On the afternoon of 22 November, the Thua Thien Hue provincial Association for the Protection of Disabled People and Orphans presented 45 wheelchairs to people with disabilities in Huong Thuy town.
It is known that in 2017, the Thua Thien Hue provincial Association for the Protection of Disabled People and Orphans received 520 wheelchairs worth more than 1 billion VND, donated by the Give Childhood Back organisation (United States). These wheelchairs were donated for free distribution to people with disabilities in the province.
In this round, 45 people with disabilities in Huong Thuy town received wheelchairs, with a total value of more than 90 million VND.
This type of wheelchair has many outstanding advantages, such as being compact, with an adjustable footrest; and a seat made of high-quality flexible plastic, allowing users to bathe directly in the chair without changing seats.
According to a representative of the Thua Thien Hue provincial Association for the Protection of Disabled People and Orphans, giving wheelchairs will greatly help people with disabilities move around independently and easily, easing the burden of care on their families. In doing so, it will help people with disabilities gain more confidence and strive to rise in life.
