On the morning of 3 December, the Nghe An Provincial Association of People with Disabilities held a rally to mark the 25th anniversary of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3/12/1992 – 3/12/2017) and a legal knowledge contest.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was initiated by the World Programme of Action concerning Disabled Persons and promoted by the United Nations since 1992. The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is organised to promote social activities towards community life and to mobilise support for the values, rights and welfare of people with disabilities. At the same time, it raises awareness of the participation of people with disabilities in all areas of political, social, economic and cultural life.
Along with cultural and sports exchange activities, the Provincial Association of People with Disabilities also organised a camp with the participation of people with disabilities from Thanh Chuong, Hung Nguyen and Nghi Loc districts, Thai Hoa town, Vinh City and the Vinh City Self-Help Association.
Members also took part in the Legal Knowledge Bridge contest, with rounds including greetings, answering questions and handling situations. Through these activities, people with disabilities are helped to gain a firm grasp of the State's regulations on the rights and interests of people with disabilities, and are encouraged to overcome difficulties and rise up in life./.
