The training course attracted nearly 50 local government officials at all levels in Thai Nguyen province, including the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the People’s Committees, the Rehabilitation Hospital, the Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans, the Social Work Centre, the Fatherland Front Committee, the Women’s Union, the health sector, the Youth Union and the Association of People with Disabilities.

The aim of the training course was to provide commune and ward officials and agencies and organisations working in support of people with disabilities with information on relevant policies and an understanding of the process for determining the level of disability, and to give agencies and organisations the opportunity to exchange information and share experience in supporting people with disabilities in the community.

By the end of the training course, the trainees and people with disabilities had gained knowledge of the process and procedures for determining the level of disability locally, and thanked Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh, Deputy Head of the Policy Division at the Department of Social Protection, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), for his enthusiastic delivery of lessons that are useful for supporting people with disabilities in the community.
