The musical performances and smiles of the children at the Vocational Training Centre for People with Disabilities in Nghe An province during the Mid-Autumn Festival moved everyone to tears.
On the afternoon of 17 September, the Nghe An Press Joint Club, Pu Huong National Conservation Area and the Nghe An Provincial Vocational Training Centre for People with Disabilities jointly organised an early Mid-Autumn Festival themed “Loving Moon” for more than 100 children with disabilities studying at the centre.
The musical performances at the Mid-Autumn Festival programme “Loving Moon”, performed by the young trainees with disabilities, moved many people to tears at the children’s innocence
At present, the Nghe An Provincial Vocational Training Centre for People with Disabilities is training around 220 trainees with disabilities. Of these, around 100 are children aged 15 or under.
Born less fully formed than other children, with impairments in their bodies, the trainees here have shown their determination to rise above their own circumstances.
With the efforts of the centre’s staff, workers and teachers, each year the centre trains nearly 100 trainees to master a trade and be able to support themselves. Trainees here have also overcome their circumstances, striving to study and earn a living to support themselves and their families.

Many trainees here, after finishing their vocational training, have built their own lives and started families. Moreover, many of them have opened their own businesses in the trades they learned and created jobs for friends in the same situation.
During the 2013 Mid-Autumn Festival, representatives of Pu Huong National Conservation Area also presented 10 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND, to 10 children who have risen above their circumstances and excelled in their studies.
Alongside this, leaders of the Nghe An Resident Press Joint Club also presented commemorative gifts to the centre and many meaningful gifts and sweets to the children with disabilities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival together.

Notably, during this meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival, the musical performances by the children with disabilities here and their innocent smiles moved everyone present to tears.
Although disadvantaged from birth, the children still strive, live happily and get along with everyone. Looking at the greeting gestures from the children’s tiny hands, everyone was moved to tears.

Receiving these gifts, on behalf of the centre’s teachers and trainees, Mr Phan Bui Hai – Director of the Nghe An Vocational Training Centre for People with Disabilities – said that on average, each year the centre only trains more than 200 people with disabilities, mainly aged from 13 to under 30, in traditional trades such as garment making, embroidery, civil carpentry and office computing…
This year the centre is very pleased to have received the attention of representatives of Pu Huong National Conservation Area and the Nghe An Press Joint Club, who organised a meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival for the children with disabilities here. On behalf of the centre’s leaders and trainees with disabilities, we would like to thank them for this sharing and these meaningful acts.
It is hoped that the centre will receive even more attention from leaders at all levels and sectors and from organisations so that children with disabilities can ease the pain of their physical impairments and integrate into society.
