On the evening of 28 September, at Trung Vuong Theatre in Da Nang, the Da Nang Association for the Protection of Disabled People and Orphans organised the 6th “Pink Hearts” programme in 2017.
This is the Association's annual traditional activity to honour charitable hearts and commend role models who rise in life among people with disabilities and orphaned children. It is also an activity to raise funds for humanitarian programmes for people with disabilities, orphaned children and other disadvantaged people.
Opening this meaningful programme was the winner of The Voice Kids 2015, Trinh Nguyen Hong Minh, with the song “The Child”, carrying a message of sharing with disadvantaged children and other disadvantaged people.
In addition, the audience enjoyed home-grown performances by children in special circumstances, such as Ms Minh Hai and the orphans of the Hoa Mai Centre singing “Song of Hope”; the “Loving Notes” charity club singing “Let the Wind Carry It Away”; little An Dung (Nguyen Dinh Chieu Special School) singing with a deaf dance group to “The Land of Lullabies”; and Kieu Oanh, a blind girl who has just graduated from the Hue Conservatory, performing a dan bau solo, “Bridge to the Homeland”…
Through this programme, the Da Nang Association for the Protection of Disabled People and Orphans thanked 26 sponsors: the ASSORV organisation of France; the Children of Viet Nam organisation; Da Nang Radio and Television; the Son Tra District People's Committee; Trung Vuong Theatre in Da Nang… which contributed nearly 4.5 billion VND in cash or nutritional rice, wheelchairs and nutritional milk to help people with disabilities and orphans in the city.
At the same time, it also honoured the responsible contributions and noble humanitarian spirit of many agencies, units, businesses, individuals and benefactors in the city who actively took part in socialisation activities, contributing money and effort to support people with disabilities and orphans and help them light up their faith and hope in a stable life and a bright future.
