Recently, the Hoai Duc District Health Centre coordinated with Hanoi Eye Hospital and Hoe Nhai General Hospital to organise free health check-ups and medicine for more than 1,000 elderly people and people with disabilities in the communes of Tien Yen, An Thuong, Son Dong, Duong Lieu and Yen So.
This activity aims to detect chronic diseases early in elderly people and people with disabilities, and to manage health effectively under the family doctor model in Hoai Duc district.
At the health check-up, elderly people and people with disabilities received a general health examination from doctors and medical staff, and some common diseases in older people were detected, such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and eye diseases such as cataracts, pterygium and entropion.
During the examinations, doctors advised elderly people on a reasonable diet, a scientific routine, a healthy lifestyle and suitable recreational activities to improve their health and prevent and reduce the harm of disease. Free medicine was also given to everyone who came for a check-up.
