The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) has just issued Decision 1326/QD-LDTBXH approving investment in the project “Promoting the rights of people with disabilities in Vietnam”, funded by the United States Agency for International Development.
Under the project, the implementation period is five years, with the aim of improving the ability of people with disabilities to live independently and creating a favourable environment for them to integrate into the community; improving policies and laws; and effectively implementing action plans to support people with disabilities.
The project also aims to improve the quality of therapy and rehabilitation services; strengthen the participation of organisations and individuals with disabilities; and develop, monitor and evaluate policies and services. The total project budget is USD 21.2 million, of which USD 21 million is ODA and USD 0.2 million is counterpart funding.
