On the morning of 28 September, Thanh Nien Newspaper, in coordination with the Binh Thuan Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans, held the eye surgery programme ‘Light for life’ in Duc Linh and Tanh Linh districts (Binh Thuan – photo).
Light for life
Mr Man Tan Dung – Chairman of the Binh Thuan Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans, shared: “Immediately after receiving notice of the programme, we screened and listed more than 200 cataract patients in Tanh Linh and Duc Linh for surgery in this round. This morning, there were still new patients who had only just learned about it coming to ask for examinations, and we asked the doctors to examine them, and if they could be operated on, to operate on them straight away.” By the end of yesterday afternoon, 51 patients had undergone eye surgery and had glasses fitted.
