Thu Cuc Hospital gives priority to recruiting people with disabilities

Stable jobs and decent incomes will open up for people with disabilities through the priority recruitment policy of Thu Cuc International General Hospital, Hanoi.
Thu Cuc International General Hospital not only does excellent work in medical examination and treatment but also made its mark with many contributions to society. As one of 50 units awarded the title for doing good work in social welfare, it has carried out many charitable activities with the hospital’s contribution or under its lead. Activities are organised regularly to help poor people, ethnic minority areas, people with disabilities, and to honour people who rendered meritorious service to the revolution, wounded soldiers and fallen soldiers…

Charitable activities for people with disabilities have left many feelings among the members who took part. Many people with disabilities sing well, dance gracefully, have expressive reading voices, swim well despite leg or arm impairments, and sew skilfully despite visual impairments… They always work hard every day, longing to work and be employed. Above all, their abilities are in no way dimmed by their physical impairments.

When introducing its priority recruitment policy for people with disabilities, the leadership of Thu Cuc Hospital believes that charitable work is not only about material support, especially for people with disabilities. What they need is an equal opportunity to work, to labour and do useful work for society using their own abilities.

At present, the first position open on a priority basis to people with disabilities is switchboard operator, with a basic requirement of a good speaking voice. The switchboard department at Thu Cuc Hospital is large, and is one of the largest systems among non-public hospitals. The switchboard’s main task is to receive calls from patients seeking medical examination and treatment, guide and support them so that the process is quick and convenient, and to make follow-up calls to ask after them and provide after-service care… Those working in the switchboard department include doctors and nurses who help advise patients, customer service specialists, after-service care switchboard specialists, and switchboard specialists who call to ask after patients… With such an organisational structure, this position promises a professional and friendly working environment for anyone.

Being a switchboard operator is one of the good jobs for people with disabilities who have good language skills, because it involves little moving around, working with the hospital’s existing systems, in a friendly working environment, with a decent and stable income… Recruited candidates will be trained to become professional in their work, opening up a better future ahead.

Working as a switchboard operator is relatively suitable for people with disabilities with good language skills.

Thu Cuc Hospital will continue to offer many more jobs or new charitable policies to support not only people with disabilities but also other less fortunate people throughout its development.

A recruitment policy that creates opportunities for people with disabilities is one of the meaningful and practical things a business can do to help open up the path for those less fortunate.
