The programme was organised by Saigontourist Travel Service Company. This year’s programme was themed “Lighting up Faith with the Seas and Islands”.
Swimming in the sea and meeting, singing and talking with naval soldiers from Brigade 171, these unfortunate children grew to love the people around them even more and gained more motivation to overcome their impairments.
The organisers also launched a letter-writing competition for naval soldiers in general and for the DK1 platform in particular. More than 200 children wrote letters full of deep affection and admiration for the naval soldiers.
Major Pham Ngoc Quy, head of the propaganda section of Brigade 171, said emotionally: “The letters and the feelings of these unfortunate children move us deeply. The children’s feelings and thoughts about naval soldiers are so true, expressing their love for their homeland and for the seas and islands.
This is also a source of encouragement and spiritual support for naval soldiers like us, helping us hold our guns steady and keep our hearts firm to protect our country’s seas and skies.”
